SOME CM-NTD TOOLS GET REVIEWED

The recording and reporting tools for Leprosy, Buruli Ulcer and Yaws in Nigeria have been reviewed. An elite team of stakeholders in the efforts to control and/or eliminate these diseases in the country achieved this in a 4-day meeting held in Abuja this week. Some of the reviewed tools include the Leprosy Record Card, Buruli Ulcer Record Card and the Yaws Case Investigation Form, among others.

In addition, the soft copy of a publication titled, “Recognizing NTDs through changes on the skin”, created by the World Health Organization (WHO) was shared during the meeting. This publication is free for all, and will be made available to all NTD stakeholders who are on the FMOH NTD TEAM WhatsApp forum. The meeting was sponsored by WHO.

NIGERIA’S NTD NGDO COALITION GETS A NEW MEMBER

German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (GLRA) has been formally accepted as a member of the Non-Governmental Development Organization (NGDO) Coalition working against NTDs in Nigeria. This happened on Wednesday, 5th September, 2018, during the 49th NGDO Coalition meeting that took place in Abuja. The meeting was hosted by Evidence Action.
