The South-West NTD zonal office, this week, hosted the Annual General Meeting of the Ondo State chapter of Federal parastatals in Nigeria. During this meeting, the SW NTD Zonal office highlighted their achievements so far.

These include improved geographic and therapeutic coverages for NTD treatment across the SW states and significant reduction in the burden of worm infestation among children, among others.

UPDATE: ONCHOCERCIASIS/LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS MAM IN EKITI STATE, NOVEMBER

Following the state-level microplanning meeting that took place in Ekiti State last week, the state continued this week with LGA planning, advocacy to key stakeholders, training of health workers and CDDs among other things. These took place in eight (8) out of the sixteen (16) endemic LGAs of the state: Ado, Gbonyin, Ikole. Ekiti East, Oye, Ilejemeje, Ido/Osi and Moba. Monitoring, supervision and distribution have since begun.

CROSS RIVER STATE CONDUCTS MICROPLANNING MEETING TOWARDS 2019 MAM

Cross River State has begun preparations for next year’s MAM for all the NTDs in the state. This was kicked off with a microplanning meeting held this week. RTI and Evidence Action are the supporting partners in the state.

OSUN STATE NTD DIVISION HOLDS END-OF-YEAR PARTY

Osun State NTD Division, this week, held an end-of-the year party during which the data generated this year was presented. In attendance were the Executive Secretary of Osun State Primary Health Care Board, the Chairman of the State Advisory Committee on NTD, and the South-West NTD Zonal Coordinator, among others. One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of certificates and gifts to the three (3) best performing LGAs: Ede North, Ejigbo and Boripe LGAs. Amen Health Foundation is the supporting partner in Osun State.
