In the South-West, a Supply Chain Management training took place in Lagos this week (image below). In attendance were the State Coordinators and State Logistic officers, South West Zonal officers, Evidence Action, COUNTDOWN project, Amen Health Foundation and Research Triangle Institute International (RTI) (ENVISION Project). The training was facilitated by FMOH NTD Supply Chain Management unit & Federal Central Medical Store (FCMS), Oshodi. The activity was sponsored by  RTI.

UPDATE: 2ND ROUND SBD, OYO STATE, SEPTEMBER 2018

A comprehensive microplan has been developed in preparation for the 2nd round school-based deworming (SBD) in Oyo State. This happened this week at a feedback meeting from the LGA microplanning meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State. The timeline for this activity was also updated –  it is scheduled to take place in 13 LGAs of the state in October 2018. Furthermore, there was a training of  the Master Trainers at the state level in preparation for the SBD (image above). Evidence Action is the supporting partner in Oyo State.

NTD DATA REPORTING TOOLS GET REVIEWED/UPDATED, SEPTEMBER 2018

A workshop for the review and update of NTDs data reporting tools, supervision checklist and technical report template took place in Enugu this week. Simpler and more user-friendly zero drafts of the revised tools were developed at the meeting.

The major amendments made on the revised templates include: introductory page for the treatment reporting excel sheet, indicators to accommodate new treatment protocol for trachoma and pediatric dose for praziquantel; and CM NTDs indicators.

The meeting was sponsored by RTI and witnessed full participation of the other NGDO partners.

At the end of the meeting, it was recommended that the first draft of the revised data collection tools and supervisory checklists be field tested in few states before adopting it for national use.
