WHO WE ARE
Seventeen Plus Foundation, also called Team 17 plus, is an indigenous NGO that promotes awareness on knowledge, attitude, practice and implementation of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) in Nigeria. We work in strong collaboration with the NTD division of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH). By supporting the FMOH, we facilitate demand creation for acceptance of programmes and strategies that helps implementation of NTD activities at all levels – community, wards, local government, state and Federal levels. We therefore, increasingly seek to promote the knowledge of Nigerians on the general activities of all stakeholders involved in the control, elimination and eradication of NTDs in Nigeria.
Seventeen plus is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria and guided by young but enterprising Board of Trustees who are experts in health communication. To support us in our work, all that you need to do is to let us know what you are doing on NTDs and we will broadcast it. Novel, low cost, high impact communication strategies that reaches those in need of the right NTD messaging is important in our work and we pride our organization as NTD communication advocacy champions.
We will continue to bridge the gap between beneficiaries and NTD actors to increase mass awareness on their programmes, disseminate the extent of progress made in the NTD control, elimination and eradication targets and recognize other champions in the efforts made, while encouraging anyone lagging behind to step up its game.
